Leasing, it's not personal! By Bryon Bos, MaxPro Leasing (August 7, 2007) You've heard the expression, "It's just business, it's not personal"! And oh, how that rings out in the corporate world today! Our culture engrains in us to put our business aside from our personal lives yet, "what affects us most"? Is it money; is it time, or maybe even status? I believe it's all of these things and much more. All of which have a direct correlation with our jobs and how we balance the "work life, home life" synchrony. That being the case, why would we feel any different when it comes time to make a purchase for our business? You see, there are many ways to handle our purchasing and acquisition. You have cash outright, you have the unforgettable, unforgivable credit card, you have the bank loan, and last but not least, you have the lease. All of which affect your personal life tremendously except, the lease! Why, you ask? Well, the cash, which can be used any way you please, can have effect on payroll, expenditures, future flow as far as investments or "God forbid", an unexpected downturn in economy. The credit card (directly linked to your personal credit) is not only interest driven, but has it's funny little way of showing up on what we call a "credit report"; not a business credit report, but that little credit report that you use to purchase your house, toys, dinner for "the fam", and even groceries
What happens when you leverage most of your credit? Those little benefits go out the door and you have to somehow build again or payoff with the cash you wanted to save. It gets better, what about the bank loan? Well, lets just say, the credit card and its affect don't hold a candle to the link the bank loan has to your personal life. With all of these issues, there is a solution, leasing! Leasing is based upon your business history and is formulated for just the type of situation we're talking about! Even if you are personally guaranteeing your lease, it does not show up on your personal credit report and does not affect your personal enjoyment outside the workplace. There are many more benefits to leasing and why it is the best choice for the better business today but for now, let's think on these things and one way we can keep business aside from personal! <end> Customer Spotlight Bargain Bin Stump the Tech We are challenging every one to stump our highly experienced techs with questions in video editing and equipment. These questions and answers will be posted with full recognition. The postings will only be edited for improper usage. This is being done for fun in an effort to share knowledge about our industry. QFrom Rob "I have a sony hdcam 700a with HD-pr-pb-y outputs...when I feed the signal to a downconverter then to a monitor...I see ntsc/sd color video...when I feed the signal(sd-composite) to a dvcam deck w/ built in monitor...the picture is black and white! I just wanted to record a SD/dvcam backup...why won't it see the downconverted color image? Any info? Is the downconverted signal not strong enough? thanks " A "Rob, More to come in our Next issue.
