Editors and videographers can capture popular formats such as DV and HDV-and encode from analog or digital sources-and then master to tape in both standard and high definition formats. The Avid Liquid Chrome HD family offers a range of solutions that can handle almost any I/O format or codec and then author to a wide range of output formats, including standard- or high-definition tape, DVD, or Web.

Avid Liquid combines powerful video editing integrated with DVD authoring from the timeline; surround-sound audio processing; and powerful visual effects. Editors only have to learn a single interface to create high-quality video productions with sophisticated effects and audio-and quickly output to tape, disc, or streaming media.

Avid Liquid Chrome HD can mix and match a wide variety of codecs in the same timeline:

Capture native formats over standard data interfaces, including DV25 and HDV over 1394, DV25 and IMX with Sony XDCAM, XDCAM HD and DV25 with Panasonic P2

Capture from standard-definition (SD) analog or digital sources to DV25, MPEG-2 I-frame, or IBP, up to 50 Mb/s or as uncompressed video

Capture from high-definition (HD) digital sources to uncompressed HD

Go from HDV to HD-SDI with ease
Capture and edit natively in HDV with simultaneous output with real-time down-conversion to HD and SD monitors.
